After Diwali: Reusing Festive 3D Assets and Sale Dates to March 2027

Seasonal Campaign Strategy

2026-10-31 · 6 min read

Diwali falls on 8 November 2026, and most festive creative is already made or in production by now. What brands often have no plan for is the week after. Budgets have been spent, the team is tired, and the next sale windows arrive within three weeks.

This post is not a Diwali production plan, which is covered in our Diwali 2026 creative plan. It covers three things: which festive 3D assets can be reused, the dates of the next windows through March 2027 that could be checked, and a short audit to run on what you made.

The calendar from November 2026 to March 2027

Marketplaces usually announce sale dates only a few weeks ahead. No marketplace dates for these windows were found while researching this post. Where a past year's sale dates are shown, they are a pattern to plan around and not a prediction.

Date

Event

What the date rests on

6 and 8 November 2026

Dhanteras and Diwali

Festival calendar. Diwali is a Sunday.

27 and 30 November 2026

Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Friday and Monday after US Thanksgiving on 26 November. In 2025, Amazon India ran its Black Friday sale from 28 November to 1 December, and Flipkart announced a 23 November start. No 2026 India dates found.

25 and 31 December 2026

Christmas and New Year's Eve

Fixed dates.

13 January 2027

Lohri

Several calendars agree on this Wednesday.

14 or 15 January 2027

Makar Sankranti and Pongal

Sources differ by a day, so check the date for your state.

26 January 2027

Republic Day (Tuesday)

Fixed date. Amazon's Great Republic Day Sale 2026 was announced to start on 16 January. No 2027 dates found.

14 February 2027

Valentine's Day (Sunday)

Fixed date.

8 March 2027

International Women's Day

Fixed date.

21 and 22 March 2027

Holika Dahan and Holi

Panchang sources agree on Sunday 21 March and Monday 22 March.

Eid and Ramadan dates are left out because the only date found came from a single source and moon-sighting can move them by a day. Add them once your calendar source confirms.

The useful lesson from 2026 is timing. Amazon's Republic Day sale was set to begin ten days before the holiday itself, so January creative needs to be live in early January, not at the end of it. Black Friday followed the same pattern: Flipkart's 2025 sale was announced to begin five days before Amazon India's.

What from the festive production can be reused

The 3D model of each product is the asset that carries over. Scenes, props and lighting can change around it without building the product again. Reusable pieces usually include:

  • The product models and their colour or pack-size variants

  • Camera angles and turntable or feature animations, minus any festive end card

  • White-background main images, which are not seasonal and stay live

  • Scene and lighting setups that can take new props

  • Ad sizes and layout templates

Before you plan reuse, ask your studio in writing who owns the model files and the renders, and which file formats you receive. A model you cannot open later is not an asset you can reuse.

Retire

Rebuild only if the layout is worth keeping

Retire anything with "Diwali", countdowns or festival offers on it quickly. An ad that still says Happy Diwali in December reads as neglected, and it can also confuse buyers about an offer that has ended. That is a judgment call, but an easy one.

A simple content audit of what worked

Run this within two weeks of Diwali, while the numbers are fresh and before the Black Friday brief is written.

  1. List every festive creative. Note the SKU, the format (white-background image, lifestyle image, A+ module, video, ad), the channel and the launch date.

  2. Pull the same numbers for each. For ads, that means spend, clicks, purchases and video hold rate from the ad platform. For listings, use sessions and conversion by listing from the marketplace reports.

  3. Compare like with like. Use the same SKU, a similar discount level and the same week. A creative on a heavily discounted SKU is not comparable with one on a full-price SKU.

  4. Check the sample size. A handful of orders does not show that one image beat another. If the numbers are small, call the result unclear and carry on testing.

  5. Record returns and customer questions by SKU. Messages saying the product looked different are a signal about the image, not only about the product.

  6. Decide per asset: keep, rework or retire. Write one page for the next sale so the lessons do not live in one person's head.

Be ready for an unwelcome result. If a plain white-background image outsold the festive scene on the same product, believe the data and spend the next budget on the plain image. Our guide on product listing images and conversion rate covers which image types tend to be worth testing.

Plan production backwards from each window

Use your studio's written turnaround, add time for marketplace review of new images, and count back from the start of each window. As a rough schedule, which is a suggestion and not an industry rule:

  • First two weeks of November: finish the audit and choose which SKUs get new work for Black Friday and year-end.

  • Early December: brief Republic Day creative, since the 2026 sale was set to start on 16 January.

  • Early January: gifting scenes for Valentine's Day.

  • February: Holi scenes and any colour variants.

Frequently asked questions

When is Black Friday in 2026?

Black Friday is on 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on 30 November, based on the US Thanksgiving date of 26 November. Indian marketplaces ran their own Black Friday sales in 2025, but no 2026 India dates had been found at the time of writing.

When is Holi in 2027?

Holi is on Monday 22 March 2027, with Holika Dahan the evening before on Sunday 21 March, according to panchang sources.

Can I reuse Diwali creatives for later sales?

The 3D models, colour variants, camera angles and animations can be reused. Anything with festival text, countdowns or dated offers should be retired or rebuilt.

When will the Republic Day sale 2027 start?

No dates had been announced at the time of writing. Amazon's Great Republic Day Sale 2026 was announced to start on 16 January, so plan for creative to be live in early January.

How long after Diwali should I run a content audit?

Within about two weeks, while the data is fresh and before you brief the next sale. Repeat it after each major window.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

SMAPIT is an AI-powered CGI and 3D product visualization studio based in Gurugram, India, with operations serving clients across India, the United States, and the UAE. Founded with 4 years of 3D production expertise at its core, SMAPIT now combines that foundation with AI-driven workflows to produce photorealistic product visuals, animations, A+ content, and immersive experiences for ecommerce brands on Amazon, Shopify, and Flipkart. The studio operates across IST and EST timezones to serve global clients without production delays.

Which brands and industries has SMAPIT worked with?

SMAPIT has delivered 3D product visualization, CGI photography, and product animations for 50+ brands across consumer electronics, FMCG, D2C, personal care, furniture, and home goods. Clients include Agaro, Lifelong, LuvLap, Cockatoo, GoMechanic, and Styleuplift, with projects spanning Amazon FBA listings, Shopify storefronts, social ad creatives, and product launch campaigns across India, the US, and UAE.

What services does SMAPIT offer for ecommerce brands?

SMAPIT offers a complete range of product visualization services for ecommerce brands: precision 3D product modeling, photorealistic 3D renders for Amazon and Shopify listings, lifestyle product renders, silo shots CGI, A+ content images 3D, product animations, AI UGC ad creatives, CGI product photography, and AR product visualization in USDZ and GLB formats. Every service is produced from a single 3D master asset, giving brands a reusable visual library for all platforms and campaigns.

What is 3D product visualization and how does it work?

3D product visualization is the process of producing photorealistic product images, animations, and interactive visuals using 3D rendering software without a camera, studio, or physical sample. A 3D model of the product is built from reference images or CAD files and rendered across every format needed including silo shots, lifestyle scenes, A+ content, and ad creatives. AI-assisted workflows accelerate production while 3D expertise ensures material accuracy and visual depth.

Is 3D product visualization better than traditional product photography for ecommerce?

For most ecommerce use cases, 3D product visualization is the most practical photoshoot alternative for ecommerce available today. It delivers equal or better visual quality at a fraction of the cost, with no reshoots, no logistics, and full flexibility to update variants or backgrounds at any time. Traditional photography has an advantage for handmade or highly textured products where physical nuance is difficult to replicate digitally. For consumer goods, electronics, furniture, and beauty products on Amazon and Shopify, 3D consistently outperforms on speed, cost, and consistency.

Do 3D product renders meet Amazon and Shopify image requirements?

Yes. Photorealistic 3D renders fully comply with Amazon and Shopify image specifications. For Amazon, the main image requires a pure white background at RGB 255,255,255, minimum 1000 pixels on the longest side, and sRGB colour profile. These are standard outputs from professional 3D rendering. Lifestyle renders and infographic panels are used for secondary images and A+ content images 3D modules. Amazon explicitly permits CGI product imagery provided it accurately represents the physical product.

Which product types and industries benefit most from 3D product visualization?

3D product visualization delivers the highest return for products with multiple colour or material variants, products not yet manufactured, and large SKU catalogs. The strongest use cases are consumer electronics, furniture and home decor, personal care and cosmetics, fashion accessories, and D2C products sold on Amazon, Shopify, Flipkart, and Noon. It is also the preferred approach for pre-launch marketing as brands can produce finished imagery before a single unit is manufactured.
